Temporary Residence and German HealthCare

Hi there, sorry I am posting on behalf of my partner and I have just a few questions about the German Healthcare as we both dont understand!

So our story is this, Luisa is German and I am English. We have just moved to England having come from Canada for a year. Luisa cancelled her German health insurance and told them we was traveling for a year and sent them her proof of insurance through Travel Insurance. She has now got a 3 month internship in the UK and we are living here until October. We are potentially heading back to Germany after this. So her travel insurance runs out next week so technically under the German Health insurances view she is uninsured.

Her worry is that we will get to German in October and when she attempts to sign back up to one they will hand her a fine for these months uninsured and back charge her up until her travel insurance has run out.  Is this correct? Do we need to prove, with the NHS that she is "insured" in the UK? I have 0 knowledge of the system and it is something which I stressing her out as when we contacted her old insurance they said she needs to start paying again when the travel insurance runs out. Obviously it's so expensive (Thank God for the NHS) and we will not use this!

Any information is greatly appreciated and I hope I have made it clear our dilemma!

Lisa has got an internship. She is EU citizen, so she would be covered by the blue healthcare company. When Lisa goes back to DE she would have to choose a Krankenkasse of choice. That's it.

I'm not an expert on that, but it's not as simple as that.  While she is ordinarily resident in the UK and does have the right to use the NHS, how does she prove that to the German health insurer upon return? The German Krankenkasse should be able to tell you which form they need for a returnee from the UK.
